Try this one dumb thing is a series of experiments/challenges to determine if spending just that few minutes on one simple health hack will truly yield the claimed benefits.
Blood Flow Restriction
The Ask: 3 ten minute workouts per week
The Claim: Rehab old injuries, restore range of motion, and build muscle. Changing the way the brain perceives blood flow and blood pressure “tricks it” into thinking that it’s in danger, or trauma. So it sends in a healing response. This triggers both repair AND growth (aka big muscles).
Short Foot Exercise
The Ask: 5 minutes of foot exercises per day.
The Claim: Restoring proper foot arch and alignment decreases knee pain, hip pain, back pain; and improves overall body efficiency. Your feet are your very foundation.
Brainwashing
The Ask: Stop eating at least 2 hours before you go to sleep.
The Claim: Decreased inflammation, improved sleep, weight loss, improved mental clarity, improved immune function, decreased incidence of old-age diseases (Parkinson’s, Altzheimer’s), weight loss. Giving your body a chance to cleanse toxins out of the brain has huge health benefits.
Core Strengthening
The Ask: 5 minutes of core strengthening per day.
The Claim: Decreased chronic pain, improved athletic performance, decreased likelihood of future injury, improved body efficiency. Your core is your power and your protection.
Intermittent Fasting
The Ask: 16:8 Fasting schedule
The Claim: Improved immune function, Weight loss, better sleep, insulin regulation, muscle gain, cellular repair, decreased inflammation, decreased oxidative stress, Improved heart health, degenerative disease prevention, help with autoimmune disease, improved digestion, improved mental clarity.
Yeah, these things are easy. But it’s also “one more thing” you have to do.
